Northeast United created history by beating Mohan Bagan on penalties after the 90 minutes ended in 2-2 draw. The highlanders were down  2-0 at first 50 minutes and came back with back to back goals in 5 minutes to reach 2-2.

On penalties Liston and Subhasish Bose missed and Northeast found the net on all four attempts winning the match and cup 4 to 3.
